The Imam was asked a lengthy question, part of which was: “What is the scholarly opinion on a man who is afflicted by a disease, knowing that if it persists, it will harm his life?” In response, the Imam cited a hadith from Sahih Bukhari, where the Prophet (S) said: “Allah has appointed a remedy for every disease He has sent down.” Imam Ahmad also narrated from Usamah bin Shareek that the Prophet (S) said: “Allah has not made a disease without providing a remedy for it, except for one disease—old age.”

This principle applies not only to physical ailments but also to spiritual and emotional ones. The health of the heart is far more critical than that of the body. While bodily health allows one to live free from physical ailments in this world, the health of the heart ensures both a prosperous life here and eternal happiness in the afterlife.
